Kodak accelerates the transformation to digital printing image

Kodak recently announced that Kodak is accelerating from tradition to modernity, and it has invested $96million in Xiamen to establish our digital printing plate factory. This shows that Xiamen, once one of the most important manufacturing bases of Kodak's traditional image products, has stopped transforming oil pump motors into the most important link in Kodak's global digital product supply chain. At the 9th China International Investment and Trade Fair in 2005, Kodak announced that it had signed a digital printing project with an investment of nearly US $100 million with the Xiamen municipal government, making Xiamen the most important production center of Kodak in the world for digital media, consumables and related products. After two years of construction, the project was successfully completed. It is reported that it is a key link in Kodak's global supply chain and plays an important role in Kodak's global R & D business

the completion of Kodak Xiamen digital printing plate factory indicates that Kodak is further approaching its transformation goal. The traditional image industry has suffered a great blow in recent years, and we must face the reality. Kodak, a century old company, is undergoing a painful transformation. Now through this project, Kodak will introduce the world's most advanced printing technology to China. Ye Ying, global vice president of Kodak and chairman and President of North Asia, said

introduction to digital printing plate products

ctp is a new generation of computer typesetting and printing products, which is used to replace the early Laser Phototypesetting PS plate technology. PS plate refers to the pre coated plate. Its process is to output it to the film after color separation and typesetting by computer, and then expose the typesetting to the plate with the film as the base plate. After washing, it is printed on the machine. CTP technology is that the typesetting information is directly output to the plate instead of through the film, so it is called computer direct plate making (CTP). Using CTP technology, it has the obvious advantages of shorter plate making process, time saving, higher definition, better India resistance of printing plate, and has obvious progressiveness. The disadvantage is that the cost of equipment and materials is significantly higher than that of PS version technology. At present, the global CTP market continues to grow rapidly; In China, it is still in its infancy, and the total market volume is still small, but the growth rate is very fast

ctp technology is mainly realized by silver salt visible light and thermal sensitivity. The former, represented by Agfa, is mainly used in the press and publishing industry in the domestic market; Kodak is in the leading position in the latter. The Polaroid (KPG) Company acquired in the transformation is the largest supplier of similar products in the world, and Creo (Creo) is the largest CTP equipment supplier. Both of them have been incorporated into Kodak graphic image group at present
